Gulfport, MS –Being sent to the dog house usually has a negative connotation…that was until now! The Humane Society of South Mississippi is happy to introduce Casas for Critters, a wonderful program created by the Home Builders Association of the MS Coast.

Builders made wonderful, unique dog houses to compete in this first-time event. Only members of the Home Builders Association of the MS Coast were eligible to enter this custom doghouse building competition.

The dog houses will be judged anonymously by the HSSM Honorary Council and the top three dog houses will be awarded at the HSSM fundraising event, Club Tiki Goes to the Dogs (and Cats) at Beau Rivage on Saturday, September 13. The top three will then be auctioned to the highest bidder during the live auction and the remaining entries will be included in the silent auction. All proceeds benefit the Humane Society of South Mississippi.

For all those wishing to catch a glimpse of the best digs of man’s best friend, they will not have to wait. All the competing dog houses will be on display at business along the coast until the time of the event at the following locations:
