Are You Scared of Commitment?
You can make a difference in the lives of thousands today. Thankfully we have moved into our new shelter but we need the continued support of our community to keep our shelter and programs open.
The HSSM and its supporters are committed to the welfare of the domestic animals of our community. Since Hurricane Katrina, our commitment has only been equaled in size by the need for our services. Families were forced to leave behind their four-legged relatives when evacuated from their homes. Animals were left homeless, scattered and scared, looking for a place to call home, many were forced to revert to their animals instincts of protect and procreate. Luckily, when we thought all was lost, we had not lost the commitment of our staff, members and friends.

Although things are different now, and we are operating under a “new normal”, one thing remains the same: There are thousands of homeless animals and the thousands of companion animals in the communities of South Mississippi that need our help today and for years to come.
Since the storm, our staff and board have been totally transformed. We were fortunate to have the ability and opportunity to offer much-needed services to our community at a time when they had very little to give. Please see the enclosed brochure for more details about what we do and why it is so important that we continue our work.
Obviously, we can’t do this on commitment and determination alone. We also need the commitment of friends like you. Please be a part of the solution and join this group of movers and shakers on the Mississippi Gulf Coast to make a difference today and for tomorrow.
