The Humane Society of South Mississippi is in crisis mode and needs your help! The Shelter is overcrowded, especially with medium to large dogs. HSSM is faced with finding permanent or foster homes for 35 animals per day in this 11 day period. Yes…385 animals must find permanent or foster homes (minimum fostering period is 6 weeks) by July 31st. WE NEED YOUR HELP!
For this reason HSSM is offering special adoption rates and extended hours.
Special adoption rates effective immediately and ending July 31st.
• Dogs (older than 6 months) $50
• Puppies (less than 6 months) $95
• Cats and kittens are $40.
Remember when you adopt from HSSM the adoption fee includes:
• Your new pet.
• Free vet exam.
• First Booster shot.
• Rabies vaccination.
• Initial heartworm screening for dogs.
• Appropriate vaccinations for age
• One month free pet health insurance.
• Mandatory spay or neuter of your new pet.
• Micro-chipping of your new pet with national registration.
• A lifetime of unconditional love!
Extended Adoptions Hours are:
• Monday 7/20 – Friday 7/31, 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
• Saturday close at 5:00 p.m.
• Sunday closed.
2009 has proven to be difficult for the homeless pet population of South Mississippi due to irresponsible breeding, lower than normal adoption rates, a weakened economy, and apathetic pet owners. Please help us to make sure that these healthy, socialized, and adoptable pets find their way out of the shelter.
