Lights of Love

GULFPORT, MS – Next month the Humane Society of South Mississippi will shine a light on their mission to provide a home for every pet in South Mississippi with its Lights of Love campaign. Throughout February, HSSM will sell special red lights that will illuminate the entire façade of its facility on 25th Avenue.

“A red light signifies care for the homeless pet population in South Mississippi,” said Joy Tucei, HSSM Board President, “and with Valentine’s Day on the way it’s also a really fun opportunity to show the friends in your life, whether they have two legs or four paws, how much you care about them, too.”

The lights can be purchased for $10 each. A card will be sent to the special person letting them know that a light was purchased in their name. Progress of the campaign and its participants will be posted online at http://hssm.org/programs/lights-of-love.

This weekend the Seabees will install the 3,000 red lights all along the outside of the beautiful new HSSM facility. The lighting ceremony will take place on Monday, February 2nd at 5:30p.m. officially kicking off the Lights of Love campaign. The public is encouraged to intend.

In 2008, HSSM cared for over 15,000 homeless pets. Lights of Love will shine a little light in the darkness as an animal welfare reminder to all. Please help HSSM reach their goal of having 3,000 lights glowing in the night to show how much our community cares for these precious animals.

Please download the Lights of Love order form and send in with your $10 payment in honor of your loved one. What a beautiful way to show how much you care!
