Second Annual Running with the Dogs Poker Run to benefit HSSM
The River Bay Poker Run will host their second annual Running with the Dogs Boat Poker Run Event Friday, June 25 and Saturday, June 26, 2010 at The Dock Bar & Grill, Seaway Rd. Gulfport. Proceeds from the event are donated to the Humane Society of South Mississippi.
“We started this event last year so that we could help the Humane Society of South Mississippi” said Gary Morykwas. “Running with the Dogs is a great way to spend the day boating plus you can feel great about supporting the homeless animals along South Mississippi.”
The River Bay Poker Run LLC is looking for sponsors and participants for the two-day event that includes a private party on Friday, June 25 and the poker run on Saturday, June 26. “All boat types are welcome to enter” said Crystal Morris. “We will have stops along Back Bay in Gulfport, Biloxi and Ocean Springs, plus stops along the rivers and a two-card bonus stop at Horn Island. We will award $4,000 in prizes for the best poker hands.”
Boat registration is $100 and includes three tickets to the private party on Friday, June 25 at The Dock and one boat entry for the poker run event on Saturday, June 26. All participants that register their boat prior to June 14, 2010 will receive a free t-shirt for the event. First prize will receive $2,000, second prize will receive $1,000, and the third prize winner will receive $500. Additional tickets may be purchased for the Friday night party for $10 each.
