SMARTR ANIMALS TRANSPORT OUT TO FIND NEW HOMES
March 25, 2010 (Gulfport, MS) – SMARTR seized animals will begin moving to new locations to be re-homed on Friday, March 26, 2010 from Harrison County Farm at 11:00 am. Ninety animals will be picked up first by Okaloosa County, FL Shelter and many rescue groups and shelters will arrive throughout the weekend to pick up the remainder of the animals.
Specific details including names of shelters and rescues will be available at 10 AM on Friday, March 26.
The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department seized more than 300 animals on Tuesday, March 16 from the South Mississippi Rescue Team and Refuge. Since the seizure date the Humane Society of South Mississippi has cared for and provided necessary medical treatment the seized animals are now ready to be re-homed.
