FREE Microchip Clinics

HSSM has held an extremely successful series of Free Microchipping Clinics during the spring of 2008, meeting our microchipping goal for the entire year in just a few short weeks– but we’re not done yet!

After spaying and neutering your pet, Microchipping is the second most important service you can provide to your pet, your community, and the animals at HSSM. Each animal that we are able to successfully return to its owner in a timely fashion represents space and resources saved at the shelter– which means we can save more lives and your family will spend less time worrying about your missing pet!

Normally, microchipping service from HSSM costs just $20.00, with no annual fees–less than the cost of a quality collar and tag. Unlike tags, however, microchips can’t be lost and last forever– and it only takes a phone call or visit to the chip company’s website to change your contact information, which can be a lifesaver after storms or other major life changes. Microchips are also one of the best ways to prove ownership when a pet gets stolen.

On April 19, 2008, we’ll hold a final spring FREE microchipping clinic here at HSSM. We will also have free spay/neuter certificates available. There is NO LIMIT to the number of pets that you can bring to the clinic, but dogs MUST be leashed or crated and cats must be in carriers. We reserve the right to refuse to microchip dangerous or aggressive animals.

We will hold additional clinics in Fall 2008, call us in the Fall for details.
