Letter from the Executive Director

Thanks to everyone who helped make Tiki Club Goes to the Dogs (and Cats) a great success. All in attendance had a wonderful time at the beautiful Beau Rivage on Wednesday night, July 1st. A special thanks to everyone who bid on the silent auction and live auction items. We also appreciate the support of the individuals and organizations that sponsored tables for the event. Because we rely heavily on donations from members of our community, this fundraising event provides needed funds to continue the good works of HSSM. We hope to see you at our next event.

Today the newspaper ran a story about a puppy that was found in a trash can. Many people called HSSM wanting to adopt this beautiful fellow so we know he will find a good home. Unfortunately, many more dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens arrive at the facility every day. They too have stories to tell – but they have no voice. We try to get to know them and tell potential adopters what we learn. Please consider adopting your next pet from us because they all deserve the outpouring of love shown for the puppy in the trash can.
