HSSM spends nearly $250,000 each year on medical care for the pets entrusted to us. HSSM’s medical fund has been lovingly dubbed the Chicken Soup Fund, because we all know that there is nothing better for the sick than a hot bowl of Chicken Soup!

Donations to this fund are exclusively used to treat animals in the shelter who come to us sick or injured. The Chicken Soup Fund allows HSSM to nurse the sick back to health and prepare them for their new home.
